MANILA, Philippines — Government prosecutors have wrapped up the presentation of evidence against a doctor involved in the shooting at the Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) in Quezon City.
On July 24, 2022, hours before the graduation rites in Ateneo, Dr. Chao Tiao Yumol shot dead former Lamitan City, Basilan Mayor Rosita Furigay, her executive assistant Victor Capistrano, and AdMU Security Guard Jeneven Bandiala.

Quirino Esguerra, counsel for the Furigay family, said the prosecution has presented testimonies of 28 witnesses, 17 of them have identified Yumol as the shooter.

The trial was initially delayed after Yumol’s lawyers asked the court to allow a health check for him.

He was declared deemed fit to undergo trials.
Yumol, a doctor and vlogger, has accused the Furigay couple of involvement in illegal drugs.

In response, the Furigays filed a cyber-libel complaint against the doctor.
The Department of Agriculture (BOC) and the Bureau of Customs (BOC) seized five container vans of fresh carrots and yellow onions valued at P21 million and another two container vans of cigarettes estimated at P115 million.
“We are projecting that by year-end, the licensed casino sector group, including those from the entertainment city, Clarkiwildcasino, Cebu, and the Fiesta casinos in Rizal and Puerto Princesa will contribute as much as P257 billion to our GGR in 2024.” Pagcor Chairperson Alejandro Tengco said on Tuesday.
