MANILA, Philippines — Heavy rainfall is expected in some Northern Luzon areas due to the shear line, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Friday.

In an earlier weather update, Pagasa said three weather systems affect the country: the northeast monsoon or amihan, the easterlies, and the shear line, where warm and cold winds meet.
