MANILA, Philippines — A total of 606 road accidents nationwide were recorded from December 22, 2024  to January 3, 2025 according to the Department of Health (DOH). 

The tally is 31 percent higher compared to the previous year.

The DOH said cases of individuals who did not use safety accessories while driving increased to 527.

Accidents involving motorcycles increased to 433, while cases of drunk driving hit 115.

Seven fatalities were reported, with four cases due to motorcycle crashes.

The DOH also advised motorists to take the following safety measures and precautions:
